Agia Pelagia
The impressive bay of Agia Pelagia lies 20km west of Heraklion. A winding road leads from the motor way to this small and friendly fishing village that has developed into a popular holiday resort in the last few years.
The beach in Agia Pelagia is narrow but sandy and it can be very busy, as it is very popular to the locals too. All kinds of water sports are offered at the beach. Smaller hidden beaches around the area can be reached by boat.
The waterfront tavernas, lined one next to the other along the bay serve fresh fish and a variety of international cuisine.
