Ammoudara

Ammoudara

The lively resort of Ammoudara lies 6km west of Heraklion and is regularly connected to the city by local bus services. The one kilometre long beach is sandy and it is popular both to tourists and locals.

Along the main road of Ammoudara one can find plenty of mini markets, souvenir shops, restaurants and cafes.

This is the busiest part of the resort as everyone goes out for a stroll in the evening. Near Ammoudara, in a mountain village called Rogdia, restaurants are built at the edge of the cliff offering great views to Heraklion city.
