Sougia

The village of Sougia is located 70klm southwest of Chania on the southern coast of Crete. It's part of

the Sougia district, which comprises three more little villages, Koutsogerako, Livadas and Moni.

Sougia's ancient name was Syia and it was the harbour town of Elyros. If you enjoy walking in the scenic unspoiled mountain countryside Sougia is the ideal place for you.

The ancient city of Lissos is near by and the custodian of the site can guide you to the tiny Dorian temple of Asklepios, the ancient theatre and the vaulted tombs.

This is a place for those who want something different.It's a small picturesque fishing village with

no overcrowded streets or restaurants, a place where you can discover the beautiful beaches, many of them nudist beaches, enjoy the sun and the peaceful tranquility.
