Aradena

Aradena The impressive gorge of Aradena is located in the region of Sfakia. It starts from the White Mountains and ends at the sea at Marmara, a small beach near Loutro on the south coast.

Some years ago the walk was considered to be difficult because of a passage that had to be negotiated with a rope.

A solid metal ladder was attached to the rock at this spot and made the passage much easier.

 

The walk through this gorge is easier going up towards the mountains than going down towards

the sea.
