Imbros village

Imbros village is located on an altitude of 780m. Just outside the village is the entrance to Imbros gorge. Many restaurants with traditional Sfakian cuisine that will please the visitors can be found here.

The inhabitants are about 100 and they stay in the village only from April to November. They move to southern villages to spend the winter. Most of them are shepherds and wine or honey producers.

Imbros is the birthplace of great Cretan warriors and the village was destroyed in all the revolutions in Crete.
